On the one hand, history: the now-gone antebellum tenement houses. On the other, the tall architecture of modern housing estates. In the space where these two worlds meet, our project for the residential retail building on Legnicka 33 was created. Its size corresponds to the surrounding estates. The building, starting from the underground parking garage up to its roof, has 13 levels. We brought back the historical context of the tenements in the elevation, dividing it optically into smaller segments. On the building’s five floors, there are almost 250 apartments. On the ground floor, there are retail units. We decided on simple, modern, elegant architecture. The colours are muted, as well – mostly light hues, shades of beige and grey. To complete them, we included big modern murals to cover the concrete walls of the stairwells. This is the effect of our collaboration with Studio Bardzo.
